Daniel Simón

Alcañizano by birth, he began playing the saxophone at the age of eight at the Municipal School of Alcañiz and in the “Musical Union Virgen de Los Pueyos”. In the 1999-2000 Course he entered the Professional Conservatory of Music of Alcañiz, where he finished his middle-degree studies. In 2005 he entered the Higher Conservatory of Musc of Aragón, finishing in 2009.

He has completed several advanced training courses and master-classes with teachers of different styles, such as Julien Chatellier, Andrés Gomis, David Ruiz, Guillermo Lacámara, Boby Martínez, Miguel Royo “wally”, Israel Mira, Philipp Bracuart, Daniel Kientzy, Arno Borkamp, Jean Denis Michat…

In 2001 he won the first prize in the VII Chamber Music Competition of the Professional Conservatory of Alcañiz and in 2004 he won the first prize of Chamber Music of Bajo Aragon.

In his artistic activity it is worth highlighting his concerts with different groups, such as the Nova Saxophone Quartet, Fussion Jazz Quartet, Inoah Duo, Symphony Band of the Conservatory of Music of Aragon, Orchestra of the Conservatory of Aragon,  the Aragonese Institute of Youth Band (BASIAJ), Band of the Provincial Council of Zaragoza, Wind Orchestra Zaragoza (WOZ), String Orchestra of Bajo Aragon (OCBA), etc.

He currently belongs to the NOVUS 12.1 Saxophone Quartet, with which they prepare new recitals and advanced training courses.

He has been teaching saxophone classes since 2002, currently developing his activity at the J.R Santa María Conservatory in Zaragoza and at the José de Nebra Municipal School of Music in Calatayud.
